Night time anxiety

After suffering from night time anxiety for several years I contacted Iona in hope she may be able to help, in many ways I saw this as a last resort, however I’m hugely grateful for the understanding and help this has given me in being able to control my anxiety.

I would highly recommend Iona to anyone thinking ‘could this help me’. The answer is almost certainly yes.

IBS

I first contacted Iona after I had watched a TV programme about the benefits of Hypnotherapy for IBS.

From the start, Iona was professional and knowledgeable, her way of explaining how the brain works struck a chord with me and suddenly a lot of things fell into place.

I can sleep much better since using Iona’s excellent download. She also suggested other coping mechanisms which have made such a difference to my outlook and have reduced my anxiety levels significantly. My IBS symptoms have reduced as well.

My sessions with Iona were very friendly and comfortable and I have no hesitation in recommending her as an excellent practitioner.

Fear of Dentist

After years of being anxious and having a phobia about going to the dentist, Iona has helped me overcome this – which now makes me feel like a ‘normal person’ visiting the dentist!

It was fascinating hearing Iona explain how this therapy works and indeed how our brains work so that not only did it make sense of my phobia but I now feel it has given me skills to have a clearer, more balanced & more positive way of looking at things

From our first meeting, I felt that she had all the qualities you would want when ‘bearing your soul to that person’!

She is definitely the right person doing the right job and I feel so grateful that I found her when I needed her!

Anxiety at work

I went to see Iona to explore poor sleep patterns and anxiety that related to work. Iona’s sessions were engaging and calming. I developed a new confidence in my abilities and started sleeping more soundly. To my astonishment I also secured an amazing new job!

 

Anxiety and Stress

I started working with Iona at a time in my life when I was struggling with anxiety, was increasingly becoming paranoid and was drinking every night to avoid thinking about traumatic experiences that I have experienced throughout my life. In our first session, Iona explained how the two sides of the brain work and how my thoughts and reactions were a natural primitive human instinct to protective myself from perceived threats and how hypnotherapy could help me retrain my brain to utilise the logical side of the brain to think positively and more rationally. This explanation really resonated with me and at a time when I was emotionally at an all time low, through working with Iona, I began to understand that I can’t change the past, but the way I think and consequently act can help make the future more positive for me and those around me. I have now become more aware of when I am beginning to feel anxious (e.g. stiffening of shoulders, fidgeting, voice heightening} and have been able to take a minute to recollect myself and be more rational in my thoughts and focus on the possible positive outcomes. Life will always present different challenges, but Iona has helped me feel more resilient and more positive about the future. Thank you, Iona.

Spider Phobia

Wow… I have had an absolute terror of spiders for as long as I can remember and visited Iona to see if she could help me to gain some control of my fear. Iona was a great choice of therapist, very welcoming and easy to connect with, she put me at ease and helped me to feel safe and in control throughout the process. I now find myself referring to spiders as “darling” while shooing them outside. Amazing. Thank you so much Iona!

Decision Making

Working with Iona has been fantastic – she has helped me elevate my quality of life and my decision making process so that everything feels that more freer and easier. Best of all, I have the tools to continue the work beyond our sessions so I can take advantage of the change that together we have affected and double down. I cannot recommend working with Iona enough, truly a brilliant hypnotherapist. I really enjoyed her approach that perfectly blends science with compassion.

Fear of Public Speaking and Lack of Confidence at Work

Iona has a calming, positive and reassuring presence that makes her a wonderful hypnotherapist. Over the course of 8 weeks she helped me to improve my confidence and overall well-being as I re-entered the world post-pandemic.

Even though our sessions have now come to an end, I continue to use her practices and techniques daily to be help me my best self and work from a positive mindset. Iona and I worked together for a number of sessions and I can honestly say that the hypnotherapy we did has helped me enormously in the past few months.  She has a calm way but positive way of guiding you through your issues but isn’t afraid to push when needed.  I cannot recommend her highly enough.
