About me

Let me introduce myself, I’m Iona, I live in Scotland. I’m happily married with 3 kids. I’ve always had a desire to help people in some way and have found an amazing way to do that.

I think my desire to help possibly comes from my childhood, I had an older brother (Ian) who was physically disabled and had a life limiting condition. Ian had the most amazing attitude to life, he always looked for the positive in any situation despite how challenging it was. I suppose my aim to recreate that through my work is inspired by him.

I spent some time looking for a counselling or therapy course so that I could help people and then I found it!

I trained to become a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist with CPHT (the UK’s leading Hypnotherapy school). I can safely say that I absolutely love what I do. I work with clients to help them overcome a variety of issues from insomnia, sleeping too much, stress, anxiety, OCD, fears and phobias, IBS, stopping smoking to name a few. It’s so rewarding, I love watching the progression in every client and seeing the transformation in their lives. I don’t go back into people’s past, it’s all about focusing on identifying solutions and positive steps so a client can reach their preferred future.

I’m fully insured, DBS checked and a member of both the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) , the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and as such abide by their strict code of ethics, so anybody who contacts me will be treated in strict confidence.

I have both the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) and the Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD)  (only 20% of hypnotherapists have the HPD qualification).

I see people both online and face to face. I’m based out of The Treatment Hub at Auchtermuchty in Fife if you would like to do in person sessions. Hypnotherapy does work online so it doesn’t matter where you are in the country, you can do sessions from the comfort of your own home.
